Using specific examples by renowned international filmmakers, the possibilities of the poetry film as an inspiring, contemporary teaching material will be illustrated and discussed. Dealing in a playful way with filmic variations on classical and contemporary poetry awakes and encourages in students an interest in language, intonation and rhythm.
