European premiere. Though he was a finalist  for the Pulitzer Prize shortly before his untimely death in 1962, American poet Hyam Plutzik (1911–1962) remains unknown to the general public. This film, by Christine Choy and Ku-Ling Siegel, explores the fragility of memory and the durability of art and affection in a warm tribute to the author who spent most of his career on the English faculty of the University of Rochester.

How poetic is a movie about a poet? This panel discussion focuses on formal and aesthetic questions raised by documentaries about writers, centered around a film, directed by Academy-award nominee, Christine Choy, about the late American poet, Hyam Plutzik. The film includes never-before-seen interviews with major poets, such as Donald Hall and Stanley Kunitz, who were colleagues and admirers of Plutzik’s work.
