The 13th poesiefestival berlin is opening with a firework display of contemporary poetry, ranging from traditional poetry to poetry with live illustration to Sound Poetry to Spoken Word and rap. Weltklang is a concert of voices, tongues and verses. The stars of international poetry come to Weltklang – Night of Poetry to provide a definition of where poetry is now The poets read in their own languages without simultaneous translation. An anthology is being specially published for this event, providing translations of the poems into German. Weltklang – Nacht der Poesie brings together various poetic viewpoints. The evening shows the broad spectrum of international poetry and its contemporary power.
