Envers singuliers: works by Marianne Cresson

The artist will be showing large-scale sculptures made from recycled found materials such as upholstery fabric, hair curlers, buttons, feathers and shells. The works are a homage to 'My Marseille - a Space to Live In' and the diversity of its day-to-day existence and its poetry.

For the opening, the group 'Mokhtar' will be playing music from Algeria.

"If you distance yourself from your childhood, you distance yourself from poetry." For Milo de Angelis and Lutz Seiler the subject of adolescence is one of the central motivations in poetic searching. This poetry discussion will be bringing these two writers together to talk about their rediscovered childhoods.

Marseille is a teeming, noisy city in which many different language collide. Three quite different writers shed light on it, each in their own way. Pierre Guéry's poem 'Alien Nation' builds a bridge between Marseille and Algeria; Florence Pazzottu will be reading poems dedicated to the vanished 'Le Panier' quarter of the city; and Arno Calleja will be presenting his texts, which combine rhythm and linguistic reflection in a quite idiosyncratic way.
