Big names in poetry will be performing at Weltklang, a concert of language under open skies. Stars of the poetic arts will be reading on 23 June 2007 at the open-air theatre in Volkspark Friedrichshain to mark the opening of this year’s poesiefestival berlin.  
Weltklang is poetry from across the world presented in its original language. In this night of poetry under the stars, listeners are immersed in the foreign sounds, voices and rhythms of the poems. The magic of Weltklang – Night of Poetry lies in the fact that the poems are presented in their original language, without translation. A special anthology of the poems being read at this event – alongside their translations – will be available but in limited number only.
