Whether it is vocal, dance-based, artistic design or play-performance, the poesiefestival berlin is again giving children the chance to find their own poetic form of expression and their own personal way of interpreting poetry.
For a whole week, pupils from 11 Berlin school classes will be working on a project called “Groß ist die Welt. Die schönsten Gedichte von Josef Guggenmos”. In children’s and youth libraries in nine Berlin districts, the children will be dancing, painting and acting out their versions of the poems under the guidance of staff from LesArt, the Berlin Centre for Children’s and Youth Literature. They will be presenting their results on 29 June 2007 at the poesiefestival berlin, accompanied by BeatBox Eliot, rapper Yaneq, poet Arne Rautenberg in addition to international guests.
The children’s project is taking place in partnership with LesArt, the Berlin Centre for Children’s and Youth Literature, and also with children’s and youth libraries in the city.
