Haus für Poesie

Christian Schloyer (b.1976 in Erlangen) lives in Nuremberg. He is a text and sound artist focusing on poetry, poetry performance and electro-acoustic improvisation. His greatest passion is for cross-genre synaesthesic work with poetic texts. He has also written children’s books and a fantasy trilogy.
While studying Philosophy and German Literature in Erlangen, he initiated the Wortwerk open text workshop. He is the honorary head of LiteraturDing e.V., is responsible for the Nuremberg Poetry Night and was a member of the falschtechst-schlachtfest artists’ collective.

Michael Ammann (b. 1967 Weiden) is a sound and improvisation artist whose work involves spatial sound, real time, interaction and coincidence. Before studying sound art with Professor Eller at the Hanover University of Applied Arts, Ammann had already, in 1997, founded the inter-disciplinary collective To:en, in which artists, writers, dancers and musicians are involved within the principle “acoustic stimuli provoke uncontrollable mental projections”. He continued his studies in the field of art and public space until 2004 at the Nuremberg Academy of Fine Arts with Professor Hölzinger und Professor Georg Winter. Since 2002 he has been a master student of Professor Ottmar Hörl.

Ammann is the initiator of the QUADROPHONIA International Festival for Electro-Acoustic Art in Nuremberg and has written the music for several silent films including Fritz Lang’s 1927 classic Metropolis. It has been written of him that he counters the various music adaptations with a world of noises, a whole cosmos of annoying sounds, vexatiously stunning waves of sounds.

Swantje Lichtenstein (b. 1970 in Tübingen) is a text-sound poet and performance artist. She lives in Düsseldorf. She studied Philosophy, Literature and Sociology in Tübingen, Cologne and Bonn. She gained her doctorate from the University of Cologne in 2001 with a thesis on poetological, performative poetry.
She performs internationally at various festivals and events including the Sound-Text Festival, NYC, the Poetic Voices Africa Festival, Cologne, International Poetry Festival, Bucharest, and Salon de Poesie, Guadalajara and Mexico City.
Since 2007 she has been Professor for Text and Aesthetic Praxis at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. She also teaches at other institutions including the Institute for Language Art, University of Applied Arts, Vienna, and the Institute for Music and Media, Robert Schumann Music Academy, Düsseldorf.

Kinga Tóth (b. 1983 in Sárvár, Hungary) is a linguist and (sound) poetry illustrator. She works as a “communication specialist” (journalist) and is a reader for art magazines. Her own artistic work often crosses genre boundaries; she frequently performs her own poetic texts with sound support and has illustrated several of her own volumes of verse. She is also a songwriter and fronts the project Tóth Kína Hegyfalu and is a committee member of the József Attila Circle Literary Association of Young Writers, as well as an active member of numerous other projects and associations.
