In this game, coloured squares represent the letters of the German alphabet. Each player can place these squares together in rows and make a poem out of coloured rectangles. In this way, a poem of coloured surfaces is created, which can then be “read” by audience members and visitors to the Academy of the Arts with the aid of a letter-colour key.

Children from Berlin primary schools can learn about poetry by staging it. With theatre educationalist and director Klaus Kowatsch they will be able to read and interpret poetry by Christian Morgenstern. In 90 minutes working in groups they will develop playlets based on poems, which they will then perform live.

Immigrants are part of society, but their position in it is always ‘in between’. Texts by migrants reflect, influence and inspire national literatures. But where do migrants see themselves, and how do they see the so-called pluralistic, multicultural society? Five writers provide insights into literary and social processes.

The 26-year-old director Anna Ditges manages to create in her documentary film a very personal portrait of Hilde Domin that opens up a subjective access to this very individual poet and her wonderful work. The director will be present
