Heike Fiedler

Heike Fiedler (b. 1963) is a writer, performer and visual and sound poet. She grew up in Düsseldorf, and now lives and works in Geneva. Since 2000 she has been performing her texts unplugged and/or with laptop, modul8, realtime electronics and paper. At the interface of orality and literacy, many of her texts play with multi-linguality as an expression of circulation of signs and of interculturality vs. intermediality.

Since 2000 she has been taking part in international literature and poetry festivals, readings, and music festivals. She runs studios in the areas of performance writing and sound poetry and has herself attended workshops run by the legendary sound poet Henri Chopin (SfD) and by Nicolas Sordet for applied electro-acoustics. She took part in the research project Autorinnen und Autoren im öffentlichen Auftritt. Selbstverständnis und Inszenierung (Authors in public appearance: self-understanding and staging) (HKB, SLI).

Her first novel is due in Autumn 2019. She also designs interventions and installations in the public space and has had many writing residencies (Fondation Ledig-Rowohlt, L’Arc Romainmôtier, New Delhi). For her TexTraumprojekte she is funded by Pro Helvetia and City and Canton of Geneva. She is a member of the ensemble InsubMetaOrchestra and the PEN Centre Suisse romand committee.

Jörg Piringer (b. 1974 in Vienna) works as a freelance artist and scholar in the areas of electronic music, radio art, sound poetry, visual poetry, interactive collaborative systems, online communities, performance, sound installation, computer games, video art and poetic software. He is also a co-founder and member of the Institute for Transacoustic Research and the Vegetable Orchestra and teaches at the School for Poetry in Vienna. Piringer works in the gaps between language art, music, performance and poetic software. His work comes out of involvement with language in its smallest units, letters and sounds. He has described it in an interview: “They are probably the same motives that lead physicists to get involved with elementary particles – I want to find out something about what my world is made of”.
