Up in Northern Europe remarkable things have been happening in the world of poetry and film. Filmmakers in search of the perfect poem can take their pick, thanks to the rich contemporary Norwegian poetry scene. In the process, impressive films are appearing, above all animations. Likewise, the creative publishing scene – from small press to market leader – is approaching the poetry film as a contemporary means of distributing poetry. Since 2012, the Oslo Poetry Festival has also been devoting its own film festival to the genre, with Oslo Poesifilm. The focus programme presents the breadth of the Norwegian poetry film landscape in film, reading, exhibition and discussion, and through it, greets the filmmakers, authors and other protagonists of the literary scene in Berlin.
Focus Norway is kindly supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy and NORLA, and in collaboration with Gasspedal Animert and Oslo Poesifilm.
