ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival 2014 - the Programme
Seven programmes from the current submissions show the broad spectrum of German and international poetry films. Crises, aspirations, fear, lust, love or revenge create a felicitous mix.
We are not alone! A lot happens around us, without us even sensing it. A second national language, the dreams of others or the touching life and death of an ant. Sounds confusing? It sure is!
City, Country, Flight
The urban squeeze forces us out into nature, which we barely recognise anymore. We take a more precise look at pastoral idylls, neighbours, neighbourhoods or simply at koalas and crabs.
Wracking Your Brains
Deliberations and memories preoccupy us on a daily basis. We struggle with the past, our doubts and spiritual unrest. But as long as we think, we are. That makes us human.
Love, Life, Crisis
Crises lurk everywhere, in the news or in the privacy of one’s own home. We battle with our weight, with age or diverse fears. Crises – private or global – this programme offers help to self-help.
I and You
Who am I? What do others think of me? Desires, inner torments and loneliness plague us. But what’s the point? – I am as I am! After a small creative break we let it rip again and dive head first into life.
Dance and Music resonate in a triad with poetry. Modern rhythms interpret familiar poems, expressive dances and performances convey to us the cumulative force of language.
Sounds of Home
The German-speaking world is known for its diverse poetry. Concrete, digital and sound poetry, nature poetry or songs, prove that the variants are almost limitless, and extend all the way to Mars.
