Focus Canada/Québec

We are extremely glad that the 2020 ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival is focusing on our poets and film makers to celebrate Canada’s invitation as Guest of Honour at the 2020-21 Frankfurt Book Fair. The focus on Canada/Québec in the Festival’s programme offers the opportunity to witness artistically outstanding poetry films from Canada as well as readings by such poets as Louise Dupré, Marie André Gill, Thunderclaw Robinson and Janet Rogers. Tom Konyves, one of the pioneers of video poems from Canada, is also a member of the Festival’s international jury and will be sharing his expertise in a Master Class. The thematic and stylistic range of the films and contributions is impressive, at the same reflecting our society, in which diversity has long played an important role. We invite you to engage with the themes and take a plunge into the diversity of poetry and filmmaking from Québec and all of Canada.
