25th poesiefestival berlin
For the 25th time, Haus für Poesie organizes poesiefestival berlin: this year from July 4 to 21 at silent green Kulturquartier in Wedding and at familiar and new locations throughout Berlin.
The festival in 2024 will focus on candid conversations and transdisciplinary practices both: Poets and musicians will read, sing, perform and reflect their practices at the festival in established formats such as Weltklang – Night of Poetry, during poetry talks or via the Berlin Poetry Lecture 2024, as well as in the Poets' Corner series, or new formats such as Vocations – open space.
The festival will open with a speech by poet Marcel Beyer on July 4 in silent green’s Kuppelhalle. Readings by international poets and German-language newcomers will offer an insight into the variety of Berlin's poetry scene. Songwriter Masha Qrella will sing her versions of some of Thomas Brasch's poems.
