Matilde Campilho, born in Lisbon, Portugal, is best known for her video poems in the Internet. News images, landscape pictures, sounds and music come together in her text-based video art. From 2010 to 2013 she lived Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she returns several times a year from her present home back in Lisbon. Her poems have been published in many Brazilian magazines and journals including Folha de São Paulo, O Globo, Suplemento Pernambuco and Modo de Usar & Co., as well as in New Observations (USA) and Público (Portugal). Campilho has already performed at such poetry festivals as Zeitkunst – International Festival for Contemporary Music and Literature (Berlin/Rio de Janeiro 2013) and Artes Vertentes Festival (Tiradentes, Brazil 2014). Jóquei is her first book, published in Portugal in April 2014.
