Karla Reimert was born in 1972 in Berlin where she still lives with her family. She studied Comparative Literature in Berlin and is editor of the text-tone label KOOK which she founded in 2002. She works as a writer, translator and editor of anthologies and has been given many awards for her texts including the Würth Prize, the Prize of the Rheinsberg Women’s Writers’ Forum and of the essay competition of the Japanese Embassies. Her poems have appeared in magazines and anthologies and been translated into English, Danish, French, Arabic and Turkish. Kafka für Eilige was published by the Aufbau-Taschenbuchverlag, Berlin, in 2003. Picknick mit schwarzen Bienen (kookbooks, Berlin 2014) is her first collection of poems.
