Despite repression the Kurdish language, with its long oral tradition, is one of the world’s oldest. How does vocabulary develop in a suppressed language? How do people think in a language with forbidden characters? What effect have dialects had on a Kurdish tradition of poetry?
In the Poetry Talk, Kurdish poets from various countries will be talking abou their language, their culture and writing under such conditions.
Kurdish-German interpreting will be available for this event.
