Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki POL author, in conversation with Michael Zgodzay DEU translator
Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki (b. 1962 in Wólka Krowicka near Lubaczów) is the great outsider in contemporary Polish poetry. His work follows no school and does not set out to found a school.
“among the Dyckis they die much more often than elsewhere”, he writes in one of his poems. He tells of the ubiquity of death, of the “great warm dying”, of bones calling through the mouths of friends and of the “sickness wandering among boys”. It is a world that is unstable with disappearance, located in a border region between sleep and waking, imagination and reality.
Polish-German interpreting will be available for this event.
The Poetry Talk: Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki – the darkness today and the darkness later is made possible with the kind support of ECHOO Konferenzdolmetschen.
