ZEBRINO Competition and Hip Hop Films of the NEW FILM GENERATION

The ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival Münster | Berlin is offering a special short film programme for children aged 8 to 12 on Friday, 28 September 2018 at the Schloßtheater in Münster. In a morning performance free of charge for schoolchildren, young cinema-goers will be inspired by poetry films. But what is a poetry film? And what is a poem anyway? ZEBRINO shows films that were made after poems or that illustrate a poem. This can be funny or exciting, can be shot as an animation or real film - in any case it is ideal for giving children access to the literary form of poetry.

The young visitors meet the Queen of Fun and the King of Tribulation in the award-winning short films from all over the world. They are there when a goose discovers freedom for the first time in his life and experience a quarrel between eel, weasel and vulture. They take part in a fun family outing in a yellow Peugeot and meet an old woman and her cat. The children then choose their favourite film. The film with the most votes will be the winner of the ZEBRINO competition 2018.

The screening starts on 28.9. at 10 a.m. and lasts about 90 minutes. School classes can register immediately by telephone (0251-230 25 86) or by sending an e-mail to info@filmfestival-muenster.de. Children receive free entrance, chaperons pay 3,- euro.

In addition, a short film programme is specifically aimed at young people: In two Workshops with rapper Felix van Beuse young people made short film clips to own Hip Hop-texts. On Friday, 28 September at 3 p.m., the young people will present their films on the big screen in the Schloßtheater.

The festival is organized by Filmwerkstatt Münster in cooperation with Haus für Poesie, Berlin. It is supported by the Kunststiftung NRW, the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Münster.
