A European Premiere
Though he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize shortly before his untimely death in 1962, American poet Hyam Plutzik (1911–1962) remains unknown to the general public. This film, by Christine Choy and Ku-Ling Siegel, explores the fragility of memory and the durability of art and affection in a warm tribute to the author who spent most of his career on the English faculty of the University of Rochester.

This panel discussion focuses on formal and aesthetic questions raised by documentaries about writers, centered around a film, directed by Academy-award nominee, Christine Choy, about the late American poet, Hyam Plutzik. The film includes never-before-seen interviews with major poets, such as Donald Hall and Stanley Kunitz, who were colleagues and admirers of Plutzik’s work.

Visitors are given flashlights so that they can draw or write on the fluorescent wall. After switching off the light, the message will shine in the dark. The text disappears slowly. New visitors then leave their own new "spots of text".
