Smuggling verses at the poesifestival berlin: As part of the poesiefestival berlin poets from the Netherlands and Flanders are meeting with their German-speaking colleagues to translate each other assisted by literary translators. In this way a direct exchange takes place, allowing stylistic contexts, cultural connotations and poetic traditions to be “smuggled” into the poets’ own languages. The results will be presented at a bilingual reading on 23rd June.

With Mustafa Stitou (Netherlands) and Jan Wagner (Germany); K. Michel (Netherlands) and Michael Speier (Germany); Anneke Brassinga (Netherlands) and Oswald Egger (Italy); Els Moors (Belgium) and Daniela Seel (Germany); Paul Bogaert (Belgium) and Farhad Showghi (Germany); and Maud Vanhauwaert (Belgium) and Nora Gomringer (Germany)
Moderation: Aurélie Maurin (literary scholar and translator)
