Poetry Market
indoor
Again this year, the poesiefestival berlin will be rounded off with the Poetry Market. Publishers, dealers and booksellers will be inviting us to browse and buy in the open air with their enticing selection of new releases of poetry, finds and rarities. There will also be a stage programme with readings by poets and music to make for a lively and bustling market atmosphere. For children, too, there will be readings, and a programme of handicrafts and games. There will an abundance of food and drink, poems and songs.
Readings in the beech garden by Luis Chaves, Mara Genschel, Georgi Gospodinov, Marius Hulpe, Hendrik Jackson, Adrian Kasnitz, Sina Klein, Simone Kornappel, Maya Kuperman, Alistair Noon, Eugene Ostashevsky, Dana Ranga, Arne Rautenberg, Cia Rinne, Bertram Reinecke, Eric Sarner, Sabine Scho, Tom Schulz, Julia Trompeter, Christoph Wenzel and Uljana Wolf.
Plus the winners of young poems – the first Berlin poetry competition for young people. In a full programme we will be presenting short films by the Cologne Academy of Media Arts in co-operation with the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Art Foundation inspired by poems by young poets from NRW in ‘poetry / film’, with the poets and filmmakers being present. There will also be an opportunity to see historic and international poetry films, including films by Man Ray, Paul Desnos and Gerhard Rühm. The Berlin poetry collective G13 will also be out and about perpetrating literary acts.
On the stage music by Daniel Kahn & The Painted Bird, DOTA (Duo) a. k. a. Kleingeldprinzessin, Bernd Begemann & Die Befreiung
Moderation: Shelly Kupferberg (journalist, Berlin), Aurélie Maurin (literary translator, Berlin), Alexander Filyuta (literary translator, Berlin) and Thomas Zandegiacomo Del Bel (media scholar, Berlin)
