From the very beginning, poetry played an important role in the Gezi Park protests. Verses were painted on houses, poetry anthologies were handed out amongst the protestors, readings, concerts and events took place, poems were read, recited and written. The student who stood in front of the excavators with a book and read, became the icon of the uprising. The invited artists all took part themselves in the protests, and lent them a voice with their poems and reports. On this evening they will read from their texts from Gezi Park.
