Poetry Conversation: Ko Un – Wishwords
Talk
Ko Un poet, South Korea, in conversation with Barbara Wahlster Literary Critic, Deutschlandradiokultur, Berlin.
Ko Un is one of Asia’s most important poets. He was first a monk, then a resistance fighter, and has published over 130 books. His poetry is personal and timeless, open and exact, dealing with poetics and politics at the same time. It balances between classical forms and everyday speech. The scenic and the aphoristic, tradition and the present, all intertwine with one another. The literary critic Barbara Wahlster questions Ko Un about his life and work.
