What can we learn from the First World War from a peaceful present? In his 200-page long poem “Tout reprende à 1914”, Jacque Darras poses this question, in a critical confrontation with poets such as Charles Péguy, Guillaume Appollinaire, Ernst Stadler, Hugo Ball and Wilfred Owen. Odile Kennel, a poet and Jacques Darras’ German translator, speaks with him about his project of poetic commemoration as the work of peace.
