Alice Notley, poet, USA, in conversation with Uljana Wolf, poet, Berlin.
Alice Notley’s (born 1945, USA) work, with its archeological survey into the subconscious, is a treasure in the canon of world literature, which is still yet to be fully uncovered. A rich, polymorphic oeuvre exists, which is continually growing. It encompasses, among other works, an autobiographical long poem and a feminist counterdraft to Dante’s “Divine Comedy”. For Notley, poetry is not simply an instrument that serves the representation of experience. For her, poetry becomes an instrument of this experience itself.
The poet Uljana Wolf will interview Alice Notley about her work and life.
