Teacher Professional Development: On the way through the “Märzwald” – Experiencing and Presenting Poetry
Workshop
With Ulrike Almut Sandig poet, Berlin/Leipzig Claudia Maaß education academic FU Berlin and teacher, Berlin Christoph Ulleweit teacher, filmmaker, Berlin Anne Böhmert and Nora Ziem, students from the FU Berlin.
The event offers teachers of years 7-12 the possibility to familiarise themselves with current concepts of the promotion and presentation of poetry. In the first section, in a reading and discussion with poet Ulrike Almut Sandig, we look into her poetic work, which includes, apart from three published books of poetry (“Dikicht” 2011, “Streumen” 2007, “Zunder” 2005), the concert presentation “Märzwald” – Poetry for Fans of Pop-music (2011), as well as the project “Augenpost”. In the second section we present the concept of poetry promotion: in various workshops the participants can familiarise themselves with new teaching methods, and test them out in the analysis and presentation of poetic texts. There is the choice of the production of a performance, a spatial installation, or a sound installation.
