Awards ceremony: 'Poetry Unites'

More than five hundred children and young people from Germany and Poland have followed the call of the 'Poetry Unites - Send us your Favourite Poem' contest and sent in texts on their favourite poems and the role they have played in their lives and their dreams. The mixed German and Polish jury each selected three winners, whose stories have been made into films by film maker Ewa Zadrzyńska. The winners will be able to meet at the awards ceremony, and the short films will be given their première.
'Poetry Unites' is a project by the Evens Foundation in cooperation with the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin, with the kind support of the Polish Institute, Berlin, sponsored by the German federal government's official representative for culture and the media. It is under the patronage of Minister of State Bernd Neumann, the German federal government's official representative for culture and the media, and of the Minister for Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, Bogdan Zdrojewski.
