Natalia Molebatsi (c) Victor Dlamini

Natalia Molebatsi, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a writer, performance poet, workshop leader and event manager. She has already performed in places such as Azerbaidjan, Senegal, Italy and the UK and has shared the stage with artists like Lebo Mashile, Alice Walker and Simphiwe Dana. Molebatsi performed at the 2009 Women in Africa and the African Diaspora International Conference in Nigeria and in the 2012 Programme of the Cultural Olympiade in London as a representative of South Africa. Her poems have frequently been accompanied by music; together with Italian and South African musicians she founded the jazz-funk band Soul Making. In her writing she points the political finger, describes social injustices, and talks about love and loss. Above all, however, she writes about women, the reality of their lives and their struggles.
