The Poets of Maidan
The crisis in Ukraine is heating up with no end in sight. Many poets are in the front line of events, whether as actors, observers, activists or spokepeople. On 12 June 2014 in the 15th poesiefestival berlin the Maidan poets will be reporting on the current events and the role of poetry in them. They include Boris Chersonskiy, Olena Herasymyuk, Halyna Kruk, und Yelena Saslavskyaya. The Ukraine theme day has been curated by writers Yury Andruchovych and Serhiy Zhadan.
