The 1000th Poet on lyrikline
Peter Huchel’s is to be the thousandth poetic voice on the lyrikline website on Saturday, 18 October 2014. There will then be poets from 102 countries on lyrikline, with around 9,000 poems in 63 languages and more than 12,700 translations into 66 different languages.
All the poems on lyrikline are spoken by the poets themselves in the original, including recordings of the voices of great, deceased poets of the past such as Bertolt Brecht, Hermann Hesse, Rose Ausländer, Ingeborg Bachmann, Paul Celan, Hugo Claus, Mahmud Darwish, Nâzim Hikmet, Ernst Jandl, Heiner Müller and William Butler Yeats. lyrikline works with a network of more than forty partners around the world.
