There is movement in the Czech poetry scene. Poets are relocating their role in society, looking for new ways of interacting with their audience and demanding structures to promote their position. New organisations are being established and international exchange is becoming more important. At the poesiefestival berlin poets from the Czech Republic and Germany are meeting for a translation workshop. The participating poets will be talking about working together in the workshops and discussing themes and tendencies in contemporary Czech poetry.
Czech-German interpreting will be available for this event.
The Poetry Talk: Czech poetry on the move is sponsored by the German-Czech Future Fund, the Czech Literature Centre, Section of the Moravian State Library in Brno, the Goethe Institute Prague and the Czech Centre Berlin and is taking place in co-operation with the Czech Writers’ Association (Asociacespisovatelů) and with the kind assistance of the House of History/Museum in the Culture Brewery Foundation and ECHOO Konferenzdolmetschen.
