Poetry Talk: Mila Haugová
Talk
Mila Haugová HUN/SVK writer in conversation with Reto Ziegler AUT publisher
Body and poem, promise and the pain of love come together in the poetry of Mila Haugová. The daughter of a Hungarian mother and a Slovakian father, she was one of the first writers to garner attention with feminist poems in the Czechoslovakia of the 1980s. Between the lines of her poems Ingeborg Bachmann, Sylvia Plath and Friederike Mayröcker can be sensed as she rewrites, integrates and interrogates them. Haugová’s poetry is an allusive art in which nature, eroticism, memory and loss are inextricably intertwined.
The event will be in German
