Katalin Ladik is a true multi-artist: poet, performer and actor. She draws on the various media of poetry, writes prose and audio texts, and works with collage, photography and experimental music. Ladik performs in many happenings as well as in theatre plays, films and television productions. In Hungary and Yugoslavia in the early Sixties she was a legendary and controversial figure with her feminist-shamanistic sound poems and nude performances. In graphic scores and vocal compositions she dissects language into its component parts and explores their movements, dynamics and gestures. Katalin Ladik will be talking to translators Orsolya Kalász and Peter Holland about her multi-faceted work, which is an inspiration to many young Hungarian artists.
Hungarian-German interpreting will be available for this event
