Off the Map. A conversation with Lavinia Greenlaw
Talk
Lavinia Greenlaw UK writer in conversation with Hans Jürgen Balmes DEU International Literature Programme Director at S. Fischer Verlag
“It feels as though we had packed our bags and had vanished from the map.“ Writer Lavinia Greenlaw, the current Samuel Fischer Guest Professor, has always liked to look at the European continent from its margins. In Minsk (Faber & Faber 2003), the spaces stretch from the abandoned landscapes of childhood to Lofoten to Minsk; in Questions of Travel: William Morris in Iceland (Notting Hill Editions, 2011) the perspective is a Nordic one. Greenlaw will be talking to Hans Jürgen Balmes about the European element in her poetry – and about Brexit as a vanishing from the map.
German translations of the texts are available.
English-German interpreting will be available for this event.
