The Unheard Poetry is the title of an anthology in progress dedicated to poets in the Black Diaspora in Europe and due to be published by Das Wunderhorn Verlag in 2021. It will give German-speaking readers an insight into young, black, European poetry. It is being put together by Congo-born poet Fiston Mwanza Mujila, who is now introducing the project in Berlin. Four of the poets featured in the anthology discuss their individual approaches to topics that connect them while going far beyond being black in Germany and Europe. What role is played by musicality and language as well as empowerment, racism and post-colonialism in their texts? Where is the literary Black Diaspora located in the cultural landscape? What about participation? These topics will be discussed by East Berlin-born Lahya, Lubi Barre, who after spending time in France, Somalia and the USA now lives in Hamburg, Kalaf Epalanga, who is equally at home in Lisbon and Berlin, poet Philipp Khabo Koepsell who hails from Marburg and event curator Fiston Mwanza Mujila with Rachelle Pouplier.

After a break the poets will be performing their texts from around 8.30 pm. Kalaf Epalanga, who has also made a name as a musician with his band Buraka Som Sistema, will be playing electronic music with an Angolan accent. The event is hosted by Acèle Nadale
