Music and contemporary dance meet poetry – dancers and musicians have selected poets from around the world living in Berlin for three D poetry. The thirteen cross-genre productions, including concert performances, choreographies and mini-operas will be performed in 2017 and 2018 in the Academy of Arts and the Berlin Uferstudios and thrown open for discussion. The first three productions will be premièred at the
poesiefestival berlin.

Ingesture
Poet Christian Hawkey, composer and musician Roy Carroll and choreographer and dancer Maya Matilda Carroll share a curiosity about language, mysticism and the future. The piece Ingesture centres on the writings of Charlotte Wolff (1897—1986), a German-British Jewish doctor, sexologist, writer and researcher on hand and gesture analysis in the early 20th Century.

n/achtfüssig (n/e/ight-footed)
Choreographer and dancer Anna Huber and composer and musician Hubert Machnik use unpublished poem-vollages by Hertha Müller, which have previously been recorded by the author specially for this project. The sensuousness of the arrangement of the words cut out from print media and arranged on postcards inspire the choreographical and musical interpretation.

Schulter von αund anderen, fernen Ländern (Shoulders of α and other distant countries)
Composer Markus Pesonen and choreographer and dancer Shang-Chi Sun have developed their joint work in collaboration with the KNM Quartet from the text ‘the people of yore loved to dance’ by poet Daniel Falb.

Project leader: Silvia Bohner
Artistic directors: Anja Weber (dance) and Thomas Bruns (music)
Other productions of three D poetry can be seen on 14 and 15 October2017 in the Uferstudios Berlin.

The repeat performance takes place on the 18th of June at 3 pm. The event Poetry Talk: drei D poesie Movement between dance, music and poetry takes place on the 18th of June at 5 pm.
